We’re looking for a dynamic individual ready to join our San Francisco Bay area three station cluster; AM 1100

KFAX, AM 1220 KDOW and 860 AM KTRB. Products include; radio air-time, digital sales, banner ads, mobile advertising, seasonal and special promotions and events. Must be a self-starter, creative and able to develop accounts using methods such as cold calls, PowerPoint presentations, research tools, site tours, and other business development tools to bring in new customers. Ongoing training and development for achieving monthly sales goals set by the Director of Sales (DOS). Must be able to develop promotional and marketing materials, speak in front of small groups and develop professional and ongoing relationships with clients.

He/She will be involved in all aspects of the sales process; from initial contact to payment on accounts that have been sold or assigned. Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet research and marketing tools. Must be well organized and detail oriented with good interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to work effectively with sales team members, senior management and customers. Sales experience is a must. Our account executives spend at least 50% of their week prospecting for new business including cold calls and off site meetings. A portion of each day includes driving to appointments. Reimbursed expenses are included in our generous compensation package. Approximately 8-10 hours per week will be spent in the office located in Fremont, CA. Candidate must be detail oriented and able to demonstrate accountability for responsibility of projects and deadlines and have the ability to work under pressure.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger motion, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, sit, talk, read and hear. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to adjust focus. Driving of up to 50% of the day is the norm.

Work Environment: Moderate noises usually associated with an office environment as well as traffic and off site locations and meetings.

Desired Job Experience:

Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook Calendar, PowerPoint, Internet research and marketing tools.

This is not an entry level sales position. Prior outside sales experience is a must. Also must be a self-starter, creative and able to not only recognize “need areas” but to develop solutions as well.

Desired Education or Degree:

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A college degree is preferred.

Functions and Key Responsibilities: KSL TV is seeking a graphic designer who will
do the following:

Concept, design and create compelling graphics and animations for daily news shows
including over-the shoulder keys, on-set graphics, opens, lower thirds, wipes, and
package animations (2D/3D camera tracking and compositing)
Design graphics & animations for special series, documentaries, promos, sales,
community events, on-air package graphics, logos and print ads
Hours are Monday-Friday from 5:30am to 2:00pm, which may include holidays. Also
must be willing to work any shift as needed, including nights and weekends.
Required knowledge, skills & abilities:

Demo reel is required
College degree in graphic design, animation, a related field or equivalent work
experience
Experience designing and animating 2D/3D graphics required (Broadcast experience a
plus)
Proficient with Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and Cinema 4D (Chyron Lyric
knowledge a plus)
Strong typography skills
Strong foundation in motion design, animation, tracking and compositing
Must understand the importance of accuracy, both in spelling and content of on-air
graphics
Work with producers, reporters, directors, and production staff to create a
professional look and maintain accuracy in all graphics
Positive, self-starter, capable of performing under pressure and making good
decisions, particularly during peak hours
Willing to accept responsibilities and be able to work under minimal supervision
Demonstrate initiative and show innovation in problem-solving
Willing to learn new software and broadcast equipment
Work effectively in a team environment

Summary: KSL TV is pleased to announce the availability of an internship in the TV News
Department. We are looking for students who are interested in a NON-PAID learning
opportunity, where they can extend their television broadcasting education beyond the
classroom. This KSL TV News internship is designed to provide students with a strong
interest in broadcast journalism an opportunity to gain an insight into the operation of
professional TV news production. The internship will cover a semester period of
approximately 15 weeks with the following schedules available:

M, W 9am-6pm,

T, TH 9am-6pm, or

F, Sat 9am-6pm

During the course of the internship, interns will have the opportunity to improve
performance in basic broadcast writing, production, research, packaging, and interviewing.
They may also have the chance to compile segments for a resume tape. The intern will
receive regular feedback on the internship projects and any outputs, along with a final
review by Keri Wilcox Managing Editor Deputy.

Qualifications:

Intern must be registered at a university, college, community college or vocational-technical
institute on a full-time basis and in good academic standing
Prefer candidates working toward degree in broadcast journalism
Preference given to students of junior or senior standing
Needs to be organized, able to meet deadlines and be a self-starter with a proven ability to
be precise and accurate
Good writing, production and conversational skills needed to transmit information clearly
