Internship - Music Librarian - Editor - Radio

Description
Our Las Vegas-based 501c3 non-profit media company is developing a new radio music service that will empower small and medium-sized market radio stations to bring back live local radio utilizing our unique "retro" music format and programming.

We are seeking a non-paid Intern who has a solid knowledge of music as well as technical computer skills utilizing Adobe Audition, etc. The intern will work at home utilizing a provided WD external hard drive (3 TB). Thus, you will need access to a relatively fast computer (Mac or Windows-based).

The Intern must have expert knowledge of music since some of the MP3 tracks do not have titles or tags indicating name, album source. Thus, one challenging aspect of the internship is to discover and/or recognize both the name of the song and the performer.

Because this is not an automated system, we will rely exclusively on MP3 tags, including title, performer, and genre. This means an expert knowledge of MP3 editing via Adobe Audition.

Our music service utilizes a unique blend of "America's Favorites" focusing on the period 1940s-1980s that is missing on most radio stations, especially in the smaller and rural-based markets. The service will utilize the air talent of each radio station's own air personalities and provided "jingles".

Our raw music library consists of 1000s of individual titles reflecting a variety of music genre, including popular "album cut versions" of hit songs, folk, country/western, middle-of-the-road, easy listening, top 40, "bubblegum", Broadway Cast/ Hollywood soundtracks, R&B/gospel, among others - all in MP3 format. We also have MP3 "albums" such as "Best of" which needs to be sub-divided into individual songs.

As an internship, there is no financial compensation; only experience normally obtained working at local radio stations.

However, as a bonus, the intern will be able to retain a "review" copy of all the music being provided , thus creating his/her own personal music library for non-commercial, at-home and/or IPod use.
