Description
Internship Summary: KSL is pleased to announce the availability of an internship in the Radio
News and Programming Department with the JayMac News Show. This is a NON-PAID
learning opportunity where students can extend their broadcasting and current event
education beyond the classroom. The internship will cover a quarter/semester period with
approximately 20 hours per week. The schedule will be arranged by the intern, the intern
coordinator, and the intern's academic advisor.

The internship is designed to provide students with a strong interest in broadcast journalism
an opportunity to gain insight into the operation of professional news production.
Assignments might include: contributing and researching segment ideas; contributing to the
show's social media presence; finding and editing sound clips for the host to use during the
show; and daily involvement with the host and producers in helping the show run smoothly.
Through these experiences, interns will have the opportunity to develop their skills in these
functions, along with increasing writing abilities, research techniques, social media strategy,
and much more.

Qualifications:

Registered at a university, college, community college or vocational-technical institute and
in good academic standing
Prefer someone working toward a degree in broadcast journalism or equivalent.
Organized, able to meet deadlines and be a self-starter
Proven ability to be precise, accurate and handle stress
Good writing, production and conversational skills to transmit information clearly and
efficiently
Audio editing experience a plus
Work in compliance with Company policies and procedures
Maintain a positive and cooperative rapport with staff, management and clients
Project an appropriate professional appearance and demeanor
Physical Demands:

Substantial physical movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
Receive, process, and maintain information through oral and/or written communication
effectively
Ability to extend hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction with good eye and hand coordination
Lift, move, and carry up to 20 pounds on occasion

Description
KSL NewsRadio is pleased to announce the availability of a digital content internship in the
News Department. This internship is designed to provide valuable experience for students
interested in the intersection of digital content and traditional radio journalism. The
internship will be an in-depth, hands-on experience to help the interested student better
understand the news-gathering and reporting process, along with distributing news content
to a number of different audiences.

As part of the digital content team, interns will have the opportunity to be involved in
numerous functions including podcasting, video editing, audio editing and social media.
Through these experiences, interns will be able to develop skills in these functions, along
with increasing writing abilities, research techniques, social media strategy, and social
journalism.

The internship will cover a semester period with approximately 16-20 hours per week. The
schedule will be determined between the intern and their intern coordinator at KSL.

REQUIREMENTS:

Registered at a university, college, community college, or vocational-technical institute and
in good academic standing
A junior or senior majoring in journalism, news media, or strategic communications
Must be proficient in video and audio production and editing and/or willing to learn
Social media experience with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat, and Reddit
Flexible schedule able to work morning, dayside, and/or evening teams
Must be organized and able to meet tight deadlines. There will be multiple projects ongoing
at any given time and self-motivated persons will move to the top
Proper writing skills, including knowledge of AP style
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

news story and watch a reporter work in the field, or sit in with hosts, producer, and editors
to observe what they do.

Required Qualifications:

our Fargo office to coordinate traffic and billing for AM 1100 WZFG in Fargo
& AM 1090 KTGO in Tioga.

This position is responsible for daily log preparation; maintaining the
sales order processes in Radio Traffic (traffic system); managing commercial
inventory while maximizing revenue; reconciling the daily log; and running
inventory and revenue reports for the Sales staff and Sales Management.

The selected candidate will work with Sales to place any make-goods for
missed spots and resolve any log discrepancies, if needed. Additional
responsibilities include applying same-day changes to actual aired logs and
completing verification of logs to ensure accurate billing. You would also
consult with our sales staff to make sure the best possible strategy comes
together for our customer.
