WACH Fox has an immediate opening for a 5 a.m. – 9 a.m. co-anchor on the market’s only all-local morning news team. If you want to anchor fast paced, visually compelling newscasts and tell in-depth enterprise stories on television, the web and mobile platforms, this is the job for you. If you are a journalist who anchors, and not just “an anchor,” this is the job for you. If you are tired of being told every fire or shooting that comes across the scanner is breaking news, this is the job for you. If you believe good television is about finding stories that impact the community and then going beyond the press release to ask tough questions, hold officials accountable and capture emotion via creative storytelling, this is the job for you. We need someone who thrives in a fast-paced newsroom under deadline pressure and has experience in all facets of media. You must have flexibility to shoot, write, edit, report and anchor, and be willing to put in the time to track down important stories wherever they may lead. A valid driver’s license with a good driving record is required. You should have strong broadcast and AP style writing skills and be proficient at posting content to web sites. The ideal candidate will be able to anchor and assist with producing newscasts, research and develop enterprise news stories, thoroughly and fairly cover assigned news stories, and deliver compelling well-written stories and live shots.

Required Skills/Experience:

Minimum 3+ years full-time anchor experience. Prior experience as a Fox anchor and/or Southeastern market experience strongly preferred. Candidates must have mastery of social media tools including Facebook and Twitter, and must understand how to properly leverage their use on-air and online. Candidate must possess excellent written and oral communication skills, good organizational skills, solid news judgment, strong computer skills and the ability to make quick decisions and work well under pressure. College degree in journalism or communications strongly preferred. Must be able to work holidays as needed, as well as, hours necessary to perform the duties as outlined above. Experience with non-linear editing, videography and live reporting required.

Salary: Commensurate with experience

You must demonstrate the ability to use lighting, shooting and editing techniques to create high quality commercial, promotional and long-form productions. Must contribute to the creative concepting process involved in developing station image campaigns, events, contests and outside media. Must be willing to work flexible shifts for station events or production that may fall outside normal business hours. SUMMARY/POSITION OVERVIEW

The ProEditor (Writer / Producer / Editor), On-Air Promotions, responsible for writing, producing and editing on-air promos and campaigns for The Inspiration Network’s fast-paced on-air promotions department. Works with graphic designers, on-line editors and audio mixers to shepherd projects through the entire production process. Partners with team members for brainstorming and script-writing. This position reports to the Vice President of On-Air Promotions.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Promotions ProEditor is a very hands-on role responsible for producing and editing of weekly topical promos and special marketing projects. Necessary skills include superior copywriting background with have an understanding of television network branding and marketing strategies.

Duties will include writing, shooting, producing, editing, selecting music and voice-over, and collaborating with graphic designers to complete assigned promotionals with varying lengths. In this role the Promotion Producer/Editor must be able to cut spots that will grab a viewer’s attention, with a complete understanding of pacing, storytelling, music styling.

The ProEditor must have a passionate work ethic, be a team player and have the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
•Bachelors degree.
•Minimum 5 years experience at a broadcast network or entertainment cable network in on-air promotions as a writer / producer / editor.
•Minimum 5 years editing experience with Final Cut Pro.
•Experience using: Adobe Photoshop and Adobe After Effects.
•Understanding of concept and idea-driven executions.
