Data Analyst

Boncom is seeking a Data Analyst to model, analyze, and report on data trends to assist our clients in making business and marketing decisions.

You are a good fit for this position if you are comfortable working within a variety of data sources, establishing processes for using data from new sources, and explaining technical results to a non-technical audience.

The Data Analyst is part of the Boncom media and analytics team, which is responsible for providing actionable insights - from data-informed planning to media performance based optimization - for marketing activities. This team collaborates with various groups across the company on a variety of projects, which could include analysis of ads, videos, landing pages, social posts, macro trends, client success measures, and more. On a typical day, your projects might include: managing ETL for client data, consulting on the launch of new web features, analysis for building audience segments, analyzing marketing outreach campaigns, or providing data-driven insights to optimize digital experiences.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience working in a quantitative or analytical role
  • Proficiency in visualizing and presenting data
  • Ability to distill complex data sets into tangible and actionable insights
  • Strong communicator with the ability to explain technical results to a non-technical audience

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Experience with building dashboards in Tableau and Tableau Server
  • BA/BS degree, preferably in information systems, economics, statistics, math, computer science, or marketing; even more preferred is an advanced degree with an emphasis in data analytics
  • Proficiency with analytics platforms (e.g. Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics)
  • Experience with web tracking and tag implementation
  • Proficiency with scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript)
  • Proficiency using SQL to query large datasets
  • Proficiency with programming languages (e.g., R)
  • Familiarity with APIs (e.g., REST, SOAP)
  • Proven ability to solve complex problems
  • Ability to detect and debug anomalies in complex data processes
  • Curiosity to learn new skills and apply them in novel ways to solve challenging problems
  • Comfortable presenting to internal and external audiences

Responsibilities

  • Partner with teams to conduct in-depth quantitative analyses that guide strategic decisions
  • Complete ad-hoc analyses as client needs indicate
  • Make recommendations based on detailed analysis and understanding of client's business
  • Create data visualizations and presentations for key stakeholders
  • Write SQL scripts to access data and evolve data environment
  • Model performance to determine key drivers and predict success
  • Build and maintain reports, models, and visualizations which provide insight into campaign performance
  • Contribute to team culture through peer collaboration, training, and coaching
  • Contribute to the vision for evolving the technical infrastructure, to further accomplish client goals
