Reporter/Anchor

KPCW is looking for a Reporter/Anchor for Summit & Wasatch County, Utah with station located in Park City, Utah.

We offer competitive pay, excellent benefits and a collaborative, music-filled newsroom.   Responsibilities: Select topics for coverage and pitch story ideas; build contacts and sources; write and produce reports for on-air and digital platforms; attend meetings and produce news assigned by News Director. Contribute to live reports as news dictates.    Planning:  Follow local and regional news along with relevant people and publications. Read agendas and attend events, some of which don’t feel like work at all (opening day on the mountain, film festivals, etc.). Participate in the creativity of story and program origination with news team, supervisors, and station staff. Keep excellent records. Help with community-building events.   Other:Manage tight deadlines and make solid decisions in rapidly changing situations. Collaborate constantly with the news team under News Director’s supervision. Reporter schedules may vary (early mornings on some days, evenings on other days, midnight oil during elections, participate in on-call weekend reporter rotation.) .

 Experience:  College degree in journalism or related field required. Prior news experience and fluency in Spanish preferred.
