The Assistant Program Director will work directly with the Program Director/Operations Director on all aspects of programming; training and scheduling volunteer DJs; all technical issues including radio engineering systems and programs; PC configuration and resolution of computer issues; troubleshooting of 3CX VOIP phone system; production of on-air spots; and use of software systems related to social media.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the Program Director/Operations Director on maintaining the sound and execution of KPCW’s broadcast content to ensure it is FCC compliant and an optimal listening experience.
- Supervise KPCW’s team of volunteer on-air DJs by recruiting, scheduling, and providing initial and on-going training. Serve as fill-in DJ host when necessary.
- Input and effectively manage the station’s music programming and on-air broadcasts using the RCS Zetta and G selectors systems.
- Assist with input and management of the station’s logs. Work with the Underwriting Director to ensure accuracy and maximum revenue generation using the Acquira traffic system.
- Assist Program Director and Underwriting Director with production of recorded spots.
- Work with news team, public affairs hosts and development teams to optimize usage of software systems related to news story production, website content, and social media.
- Partner with the Development team to set up and maintain computers and internal computer communication connections during pledge drives
- Assist Program Director with operational aspects of live remote programming and other special programming and by researching and recommending special programming
- Assist in maintaining the KPCW website.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3 years radio experience – including on-air experience. Preference will be given to candidates with public radio experience.
- Must be available for on-call duties outside of regular business hours
- Knowledge of RCS or other broadcast content delivery systems and web-based contentmanagement software.
- Production and/or live producing skills desired.
- Knowledge of Park City, Summit and Wasatch Counties.
