Technical Director

Broadcast Operations – Washington, D.C.

Join our team of studio professionals as a Technical Director at The Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN), where we produce and deliver network-quality programming. This individual will facilitate the technical performance of the control room and studio, operate the automated production system studio productions, and function as Technical Director for the CBN News Station.

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

• Knowledge of various technical equipment, including but not limited to TV production automation, video switchers, special effects banks, DVE and Still Store devices, videotape machines, media severs, cameras, crane and lens combinations and the Ross electronic TV title generator
• Knowledge of television studio and remote productions
• Ability to setup video monitors and monitor walls, vectorscope, and waveform monitors
• Knowledge of Federal Communications Commission’s technical requirements
• Proficient in MS Office with ability to learn new software
• Availability to technically direct live broadcasts from CBN Studios in in Washington, DC
• Strong leadership and decision-making skills
• Good organizational skills with attention to detail
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Punctual with regular and consistent attendance
• Excellent ability to take initiative and think creatively
• Strong ability to work well under intense pressure and with people in close proximity
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently and as a member of a team
• Ability to sit for long periods of time
• Ability to be cross trained in support of the department’s objectives
• Capable of working all shifts, extended hours and meet unexpected work demands

We train and allow room for you to acquire skills and systems in which you’re not fully proficient. We do consider recent graduates or people without several years of experience if you can prove you have the capacity to learn and catch on fairly quickly.
